This classic, timeless and stunning Zig Zag Granny Stitch Blanket Crochet Pattern is an easy one row repeat blanket pattern. It’s an excellent crochet chevron blanket for beginners. Skill Level: Easy.
Size: With size 3 (light) yarn, the blanket is approx. 42” wide and 50” high. With size 4 (medium) yarn, the blanket is approx. 48” wide and 62” high. Instructions for adjusting the size are included in the pattern.
Yarn: You can use any size 3 (light) yarn or any size 4 (medium) yarn.
For size 3 (light) yarn: you will need approx. 430 yds x 5 colors (2,150 yds in total). Each row requires approx. 28 yds x 76 rows. As seen in the photos, I used Snuggly Wuggly Yarn by Loops & Threads. This yarn is size 3 (light) and 100% acrylic. A skein is 446 yds / 408 m and 5 oz / 141 g. I used 5 skeins in total (1 skein of each of the following colors: “Fairy Tale” (pink), “Yellow,” “Light Green,” “Pale Blue,” “Soft Lilac” (purple)).
For size 4 (medium) yarn: you will need approx. 495 yds of x 5 colors (2,515 yds in total). Each row requires approx. 33 yds x 76 rows. Yarn You can use any size 3 (light) yarn or any size 4 (medium) yarn.
Crochet Hook Size: If using size 3 (light) yarn: H/8 (5.00 mm). If using size 4 (medium) yarn: I/9 (5.50 mm).
Other Materials: Yarn needle, scissors and a measuring tape.
Terminology: Written in English for right-handed crochet using standard US crochet terminology.
