A crochet pattern of the legendary Ziggy Stardust recreated as a toilet roll cover. He would enhance any bathroom!

I have designed this pattern to be manageable at intermediate level. To complete it you will need to be able to make a magic ring, chain, single crochet, half double crochet, increase, decrease, work into back loop only, join using single crochet and have basic sewing skills. The pattern contains full step-by-step instructions, tips and photographs as a guide.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
1. Double knit wool in black, white, blue,
orange, red, and skin colour

1. 3mm crochet hook
2. Wool/tapestry sewing needle
3. A little toy stuffing
4. 2 x 8mm safety eyes (preferably one green and one blue)
5. Some card cut into a 10cm circle and 4cm circle (or a plastic milk bottle lid works well)
6. A toilet roll!!

ABBREVIATONS (I always use US):
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
INC = increasing row
DEC = decreasing row
2sc = increase by making 2 single crochet into one stitch
Sc2tog = decrease by making a single crochet across 2 stitches
BLO = work into back loop only of the stitch
(##) = stitch count at end of row

Please note: if you crochet right-handed this pattern provides instructions to produce Ziggy’s lightning strike over his left eye, rather than his right as shown in the photographs.
