Ziggy Zaggy Sweater
The pattern is available here after you join TKGA.org for $35 per year, possibly the best deal in the knitting world.
This sweater is worked from the top down, starting by casting on stitches for the left and right back shoulders, using two separate strands of yarn. After the back of the neck is completed and a few rows worked, stitches are picked up at the cast-on edges with two additional strands in order to work the sides of the neck front and ultimately joining the front of the neck as well. Finally, the sleeve caps are begun by working across the front, then around the corner, picking up stitches along the selvedge edges and then working across the back, around another corner, picking up stitches across the selvedge edge back to the beginning of the round. From that point, the sleeve caps are worked simultaneously with the body in the round until the end of the sleeve openings. Sleeve stitches are then put on a holder while the rest of the body is created. Then the sleeve stitches are worked down to the wrists.
This pattern accompanies an article on the sleeve construction.
