This is a fundraising pattern for my late brother, Mino (1971-2004).

“Zigzag Scarf” is a long thin scarf with decorative lace edges. The lace patterns are intuitive and easy enough for beginner knitters. For experienced knitters, there is some room to play with this design. You should be able to knit for a very short period of time, put it down, and pick it up to start again. That makes this pattern a perfect traveling project. You may adjust the length easily for this unisex scarf.

Skills required: k, p, k2tog, ktbl, sl1, ssk, yo

Finished size (blocked): 77” length x 8” width (196cm x 20cm)

Both written instructions and charts are provided.

All the proceeds of this pattern will be donated to the Minoru Hokari Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Australian National University. My late brother, Minoru Hokari (“Mino” 1971-2004) died of cancer at the age of 32. The scholarship fund supports young scholars who study Indigenous Australians through fieldwork. We are trying to fully fund it to achieve its perpetuity. Please help.

Please visit Being Connected with HOKARI MINORU to meet Mino.
