ZigZag Stripes Afghan
Difficulty: beginner to intermediate
Approximate size: 50”L x 50” wide.
This afghan Is a variation of my Primary Colors Afghan pattern, using skipped spaces to create a pattern in the afghan, along with the color stripes, and using the backstitch on each row to create texture. I set out to make a diagonally patterned afghan to use up a bunch of partial skeins I had from making the other afghan in various colors.
I used Red Heart Classic and Supersaver yarns in this, because I wanted it to be durable (and washable!) as a play blanket on the floor for a baby as he grew (original Primary Colors afghan was made for a grandson).
I used partial skeins I had of these colors:
Red Heart and Red Heart Super Saver Amethyst, Cherry Red, Paddy Green, Royal, Soft Navy, Sage Green, Burgundy, and Bright Yellow, and Black for the divider and border rows.
