This fun knit, worked in the round, features a zigzag design worked over a 3-row pattern involving colourwork and slipped stitches. The zigzags add interest to the knit, whilst still having soothing rows of stocking stitch to work in-between. This cowl was designed to be worn folded double, but could also be worn as a long tube with extra slouch.

I chose colours that blended into each other, but this design would look equally good using high contrast colours, and would be a great pattern for special mini skeins, or for using up favourite oddments from your stash - each stripe in this design used approximately 6g of fingering weight yarn.

The pattern also includes instructions on how to adjust the dimensions of your cowl if desired.

SIZING: Finished cowl measures 10.5”/27cm (width) x 13.5”/34cm (length) - (21”/54cm circumference)

TENSION: 4”/10cm = 27 sts and 36 rows over stocking stitch on 3.25mm needles

YARN: In total, you will need approximately 320m/350yds of fingering weight/4ply yarn.
I used 5 x 20g mini skeins of 4ply high twist 80%merino/20%nylon yarn (365m/100g) from Peak District Yarns My cowl used approximately 85g of this yarn in total.

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS: 3.25mm circular needle
