ZigZag Zen is a fun stripey garter blanket constructed from the corner out. It has alternating horizontal and vertical stripes, and with different color combinations your choises are endless. Use a single main color for a more subtle look or dig out all your scraps and go wild! There are no rules in blanket making, just enjoy and have fun with it. This pattern provides yardage information for two different sizes section by section, but this construction gives you freedom to decide whatever size you want your blanket to be.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS AND SIZING
Size 1: Baby / Lap Blanket, 100 x 120 cm / 39 x 47 inches
Size 2: Throw, 140 x 160 cm / 55 x 63 inches

Since this blanket is worked in sections, you have the freedom to choose how ever big or small you want your blanket to be. There is no limit!

YARN
I held two strands of fingering weight yarn together throughout this project, but a single strand of DK to Worsted weight yarn would work too. Yardages are calculated for fingering weight yarn held double.

You will need a total 720 (1345) g or 2880 (5375) m / 3150 (5880) yards of fingering weight yarn. If you are using just one main color for the entire blanket as shown in the sample, you will need 360 (673) grams of the main color.

If you use an advent calendar as I did, you need to combine colors together from section 7 onwards. I marled two different strands together to create new colours. For example the green and the yellow seen in section 1 appear again held together in section 8. Sample is shown in size 1.
