The ZigZag Zen Pillow is a playful, stripe-filled garter stitch throw pillow worked in DK weight yarn. Constructed from the corner outward, it features alternating horizontal and vertical stripes,
making it a perfect companion to the ZigZag Zen Blanket. With endless color possibilities, you can create a bold, scrappy statement piece or keep it subtle with a single main color. There are no rules—just knit, experiment, and have fun with it!

The pillow consists of two sides worked flat separately, then seamed together with a neat I-cord edging. You can fully close it with the I-cord or leave one side open to insert a zipper for easy removal.

21 sts x 42 rows of garter stitch is 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches after blocking.

4 mm circular needles or a size to obtain gauge

YARN
I held fingering weight yarn double throughout this project, but a single strand of DK to Worsted weight yarn would work too. Yardages are calculated for fingering weight yarn held double so if you are using DK, you should half the yardages. My main color is Novita Soft Merino 4-ply (100 % merino wool, 200 m/ 50 g), in colorway 044. You will need a total 360 (400, 450) g or 1440 (1600, 1800) m / 1575 (1750, 1970) yards of fingering weight yarn. If you are using just one main color for the entire pillow as shown in the sample, you will need approximately 180 (200, 225) grams of the main color.
