Zimmermann Scarf
EZ provides not so much a pattern as describes a process for creating a scarf-like tube by knitting in the round and decreasing both ends and grafting sides together. She describes a basic ratio of end to body stitches to reduce end flaring. No gauge, needle or yarn specs are provided. See pages 108-110 in Knitting Without Tears.
Pattern description from Knitting Without Tears: “It is desirable to have scarves with no obvious right or wrong side, and this brings us to my favorite kind, which is a little more work, but, to me, well worth it.”
Please note, this pattern is NOT the mobius scarf.
The version in Spinning Around is titled Jenny’s Grouse Scarf. Jeannine Bakriges designed this lovely color work variation.
