zinal
One of three patterns that I designed, knit and wore within the space of a week for a trip to Switzerland - hence the Swiss ski resort names!
I started knitting this hat one evening thinking ‘I’ll just knit a few rounds before bed’, and before I knew it I’d almost finished the whole thing in an hour. Speedy knits! The Flims hat starts with a 2x2 rib turnback, followed by plain stocking stitch, then a simple striped pattern is introduced using slipped stitches to produce a stranded colourwork effect without the hassle.
This pattern uses jumbo weight yarn; I used Wool and The Gang Crazy Sexy Wool in Ivory White a discontinued grey shade for the trim.
Hat comfortably stretches to fit an adult head - my head measures 58cm for reference.
