Zingy Beanie features alternating panels of twisted knit stitches and zigzagging cables for a fun and modern look. The cables are worked with right and left twists, which means they can be worked without a cable needle.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Circumference: 20 inches 51 cm. Will stretch to comfortably fit heads up to 24 inches 61 cm.
Length from edge to top of crown: 8.25 inches 21 cm.

MATERIALS
Yarn:
Universal Yarn Deluxe Worsted (100% wool; 220 yds/201 m per 100g skein); color #3669, Caribbean Sea; 1 skein.

Recommended Needles (check gauge and change size if needed):
1 16 or 20 inch US #6/4.0 mm circular needle
1 set of four or five US #6/4.0 mm double-pointed needles

Notions:
Stitch marker, yarn needle, cable needle (optional), no-rinse wool wash (optional, for blocking)

NOTE
The stockinette columns on this hat are worked with twisted stitches (knit through the back loops) for added stitch definition. Twisted stockinette has a tendancy to bias, which can be a neat effect—but if you’d rather the stitches in those sections lie straight like in the pictures, the hat will require wet-blocking.
