Zodiac Cowl
About:
The Zodiac Cowl is inspired by a starry night and is personalized with your own zodiac constellation. The largest section of colourwork is a star pattern that is meant to evoke the night sky and the Milky Way. Topping off the star pattern is a colourwork design of the constellation from the zodiac sign of your choice.
You can choose just one zodiac sign to include in your cowl, or up to three. One options is to include the constellations for your sun, moon, and rising zodiacs. The pattern includes charts for the constellations for all 12 zodiac signs.
This pattern is knit entirely in the round by first knitting a long tube, before the ends of the tube are grafted together with a Kitchener Stitch, with a twist in the body of the cowl.
It is a fun colourwork knit with easy charts, and can be completed with one 438 yard (400 m) skein each of two colours.
Yarn Used:
The Farmer’s Daughter Squish Fingering,
Fingering Weight Yarn
100% Superwash Merino
438 yards (400 m)/ 100g skein
Colours: I’ve Got Dreams to Remember (MC) and Pisces* (CC)
NOTE: Pisces is a colourway offered as a part of the Zodiac Collection by The Farmer’s Daughter as an exclusive for The Starlight Knitting Society Yarn Store. For the star pattern (CC), one option is to use a yarn dyed based on your zodiac constellation. Several indie dyers offer zodiac collections. You can also use any fingering weight yarn instead of a specialty branded zodiac collection - you can even choose a colour based on your zodiac sign if you’d like!
