Zona-socks have a wedge heel which is knitted in the round so no picking up stitches.

The pattern is written for magic loop and has instructions for both cuff down and toe up versions.

S (56 st foot and 54 st leg), M (64 st foot and 62 st leg) and L (72 st foot and 70 st leg)

Yarn

100 g of fingering weight yarn, app. 400 m/ 437 yds per 100 g in two colours, 50 g of each colour. The sample socks were knitted with Schachenmayr Regia 4-fädig 4-ply (80% Merino, 20% Nylon) in colourways 522 Dark Grey (MC) and 2070 Birch Heather (CC).

Needles & notions

2.75 mm/ US 2 circular needle (80 cm/ 32 inches long or longer) or size to meet the gauge markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends

36 sts x 48 rows = 10x10 cm/ 4x4 inches in stockinette stitch after blocking
