Zopf is the word for braid in German language and at the same time it is name of sweet bread which has braid shape.

The pullover is worked seamlessly from the top down.

It is a relatively quick project at a loose gauge with big size needles. In spite of knitting with worsted weight yarn, loose gauge gives soft and light texture and beautiful drape to this pullover.

Yarn: Worsted weight wool yarn

Sizes: 3 different sizes: XS–M (L–XL, 2XL–3XL).

Finished bust circumference: 127 (142, 157) cm / 50 (56, 61¾)”

Yardage: 930 (1100, 1190) m /1020 (1203, 1300) yds, excluding yarn for knitting swatch.

Gauge: 14 sts x 20 rows = 10 cm /4“, with main needle in stockinette stitch after wet blocking.

Needles: 6 mm / US 10 circular needle as main needle. 5 mm / US 8 needle for rib. Adjust needle size if necessary to get gauge.

Notions: 4 stitch markers (I recommend to use a different color marker for end of round), tapestry needle, waste yarn.

Zopf（ツォプフ）＝ ドイツ語で三つ編みのこと。三つ編みの形をした甘いパンの名前も Zopf です。

このパターンは上から下に向かって（トップダウンで）編んでいきます。綴じはぎのないシームレス構造をしています。

太い針を使って、ローゲージで、さくさくと編むので、大きなセーターなのに、意外と早く完成します。太い糸をローゲージで編むことで、柔らかくて軽い編み地のドレープが出来上がります。

毛糸： レース糸〜並太糸まで、お好みの糸でスワ ッチを編んで、編み地が気に入った糸を使って下さい。 糸の太さで編み地の透け具合が変わります。

サイズ：XS–M(L–XL、2XL–3XL)、3種類のサイズ展開です。

仕上がりバスト寸法：127 (142, 157) cm

糸量：930 (1100、1190) m

針：3号(6 mm)の輪針をメインに使います。裾と袖口のリブは、10号(5 mm)で編み ます。ゲージに合わせて、針のサイズを調整して下さい。

ゲージ： 14目20段（メインの針で編んだメリヤス編みのブロッキング後のゲージ）

その他： マーカー4つ(段の終わりだけ別色のマーカーを使うとわかりやすいです)、とじ針、 余り糸。
