The Hat
Zopfmuster is designed especially for multicolored hand-dyed yarns! The large cable motif won’t get lost even in the craziest of colorways, and it’ll keep you interested as you knit. You can make the beanie style hat as shown here, but you could also add some pattern repeats to make a slouchier version thanks to the generous yardage in River Twist. Fun fact: Zopfmuster is the German word for cable stitch!

1 skein of Mountain Colors River Twist (240 yards, 100g/3.53 oz)
Or 240 yards worsted weight yarn (try it with handspun!)

US 8 (5.0 mm) circular & DPNs - 16”
Optional: US 6 (4.0 mm) circular - 16” (if you prefer a snugger brim)

Finished Sizes
Pattern is written for Adult S/M (M/L)
Circumference of S/M is approx. 17 inches when blocked and will stretch comfortably to accommodate a head circumference of up to 21 inches.
Circumference of M/L is approx. 21 inches when blocked and will stretch comfortably to accommodate a head circumference of up to 23 inches.
Beanie version measures 8” long, not including pom pom.
Slouchy version measures 10” long, not including pom pom.
