Something surprising grew in my garden! This whimsical cocoon and matching hat make a cozy swaddling for a newborn baby. And all it takes is one (giant) ball of super soft, acrylic, machine washable James C. Brett Marble Chunky (341 yards).

You can substitute 341 yards of any chunky yarn you prefer.

The cocoon is crocheted from the bottom up, while the hat is crocheted from the top down. Curlicues are added at the end.

The finished cocoon size is: 18.5” circumference, 20” L. The finished hat is 14” circumference, 5.5” height.
