This blog (2008-2010) chronicles the patterns found in two different books kept by two different knitters.

The first one has a section dated 1876 and has a section of 40 knitting patterns for lace, primarily edgings and insertions. This book contains samples and some patterns are clipped from magazines or other publications.

The second one is all hand-copied patterns. A few are attributed to other sources with publication dates ranging from 1878 to 1894.
