One of the greatest joys in knitting is being able to make something that can be used and enjoyed by ourselves and gifted to and appreciated by others. I started this collection of patterns last year as a monthly club to bring knitters together and I have enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful dishcloths that have been knit with these patterns.
This year the theme for the patterns was favourite books and fictional characters and I really enjoyed looking back on my most favourite stories and literary characters. My hope is that these patterns will bring you much joy as you knit them too!
All of the patterns in this collection are written to be knit with worsted weight 100% cotton yarn. You will need approximately 50 grams or one small skein of yarn to knit one dishcloth. I recommend using US 3 or 3.25 mm straight needles, but you can use any needle size that achieves a gauge you are happy with. Each finished cloth measures approx. 8 inches by 8 inches. You may block the cloths if you wish, though it’s not necessary. In addition to the needles and yarn, you will need a darning needle to weave in the ends and some stitch markers. This collection includes 12 patterns, one for each month of the year.
