Aconitum, also commonly known as monkshood or wolf’s bane, is a late blooming perennial in our garden. They are tall and can take shade. Because they are poisonous and very tall, we place them at the back of the bed, often against a fence or other structure. The colours range from a pale blue to a rich purple blue, very similar to delphiniums. They bloom very late in the season, and can withstand some light frost and even survive through that first early snowfall. The colour of this yarn remind me of these flowers, and the lace pattern mimics the “hoods” of the individual flowers.
Both the socks and the cowl use this same lace pattern.
Beads are optional.
