My Bewitched collection is a trio of pretty little witches featuring Wanda, Luna and Beatrix.
Seeing a lack of pretty halloween dolls for youngsters and oldies alike I was inspired to create some good witches. I particularly love that hair styles now comes in all colours and wanted my witches to be colourful too! The hair is knitted to be more robust than single strands of yarn and features two different yet easy techniques to create curls or straighter hair.
With full instructions on knitting three cute little witch dollies with stripy tights, three different withes hats, two different dresses with bat and cat motifs, a skirt and a cobweb style peplum plus a bodice that is knitted as part of the body with duplicate stitch and criss-cross design.
The pattern is knitted flat and seamed afterwards.
This pattern is more suitable for a knitter with some experience. It includes ‘yarn over’ stitch to create a hole effect and duplicate stitch to work the bat motifs. Single crochet is used for edging but this could be knitted in garter stitch instead.
Keep to an even tension for a smooth appearance. If you are a loose knitter either use a smaller needle or a thicker yarn. In this case I would suggest aran or worsted and the doll measurements may knit up slightly larger over all.
