This eBook consists of three patterns by knitwear designer and artists J. L. Fleckentein, as follows:
1) Sweet Mama … a sweet little triangle shaped kerchief designed especially for Mother’s Day knitting and gifting, but great for any time of year. If desired, knit this scarflette larger into a shawl simply by continuing right along with the knitting as established in the pattern. The original is knit in a beautiful lace weight Madelinetosh yarn (Prairie), but you may knit this piece with any weight yarn by adjusting needle size.
2) Agua Dulce … a slightly asymetrical triangle shaped wrap with slightly crescent shaped wings, this is a quick knit in garter stitch alternating with panels of the same easy mesh stitch pattern featured in the Sweet Mama shawlette. The design also features a unique combination of increases and decreases along the upper and lower edges that creates both the asymetrical triangle shape, and the elongated slightly crescent shaped wings. These great wings make it possible to drape this lovely shawl many different ways. It can be draped as a hood if desired, or worn as a cowl, or poured over the shoulders and down the back.
3) Bride of Fleckenstein MKAL 1 … this is a beautiful, drapey piece of loveliness featuring garter stitch, simple eyelets, optional “nupps”, and a knitting technique I developed called “Short Row Ruffles” (utilizing the ultra easy German Short Row technique). I hosted a mystery knit along with this pattern in the spring of 2015.
