I wanted to do something a little more down-to-earth with this club, and showcase what incredible everyday women can accomplish, especially in times like these when we need to be reminded of the power we have to effect change.
Introducing the Deeds Not Words Sock Club! This club features six amazing women who fought for our right to vote. The first pattern on April 1st, features Sylvia Pankhurst, an activist and suffragette.
The release schedule for the sock club is as follows with releases on the first Saturday of every other month:
As with previous sock clubs, all patterns will be written for toe-up and cuff-down. Expect a gauge of 7.5-9 stitches per inch, with very little lace. What’s different this time is that the club will focus less on cables and more on texture and ribbing.
The remaining five patterns in the Deeds Not Words Sock Club will feature other inspiring women who played a significant role in the suffrage movement. I can’t wait to honor their contributions and share their stories with you through these sock knitting patterns.
