These cute little coasters (Caramel Apple, Razor Teeth, Candy Corn, & Blood Drops) are meant to evoke autumn memories. For those who don’t celebrate Halloween, Razor Teeth and Blood Drops could easily be adapted to use fall colors and bring to mind autumn leaves or pumpkin pie.
You can make these as a fun accessory for your own home but they also make a unique and personal hostess gift for Halloween and Fall parties that can be used right away. They make for a great quick project.
All coasters are worked with a #5 steel crochet hook and the following colors of #10 crochet thread which I obtained at Hobby Lobby:
• Color A (Aunt Lydia’s white classic crochet thread) • Color B (Artiste #107 Poppy Red) • Color C (Artiste #106 Currant) • Color D (Artiste #105 Coal Black) • Color E (Artiste #124 Gold Dust) • Color F (Artiste #125 Papaya) • Color G (Artiste #126 Hemp)
The pattern makes use of both standing and chainless crochet stitches but it is certainly possible to use slip stitches and chain stitches if that is your preference. In addition to the color changes the pattern also makes use of spike stitches which can be a little tricky to work in-the-round. Front post stitches and back loop crochets are also used. For those reasons I went ahead and labeled the pattern intermediate. The pattern also includes instructions for laundering and blocking.
