Acer Palmatum “Kamagata” is one of my favourite Japanese maples. The spring and summer foliage is light green with red edges. The fall colour is reliable and bright orange red.
There are 3 designs in this series, a cowl, socks, and fingerless gloves.
All 3 can be made from 2 skeins of Iridaceae crocus. “Paperbark Maple” colourway was used in the gloves and socks.
The cowl can also be made in a laceweight handspun. The sample shown was done with Sericin SIlkworks fibre (cashmere merino) in “Cranberries and Pumpkins”.
Size 6 beads were used in all 3 samples.
