Cascade Yarns® will be making a donation to different fiber-related charities equal to the amount that it receives from Ravelry for the sale of these patterns.
Proceeds from Blocks 1-5, Final Assembly Instructions and the eBook will be donated to North Valley Community Foundation Camp Fire Relief Fund, The Camp Fire Relief Fund was created to assist the many community organizations serving evacuees and first responders. Update: Because Halos of Hope is retiring we are changing the donations to go to the Red Cross for those affected by Hurricane Irma for the net proceeds from Knitterati blocks 6-10. The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. When a hurricane or tropical storm strikes, your donation helps the Red Cross provide shelter, food and comfort to families. Proceeds from Blocks 11-15 will be donated to Project Linus. Project Linus is dedicated to providing love and warmth to children in need. These are children who are seriously ill or traumatized by a disruption in their life. Project Linus does this through gifts of new handmade blankets and afghans. Local chapters hand knit, crochet, or sew blankets. The blankets are collected and donated to local hospitals and shelters for use by children. Making the blankets enriches the lives of the volunteers who craft them, by offering a rewarding and fun service opportunity. To date, Project Linus has donated nearly 6,350,000 blankets to children in the United States. Donations to Project Linus are tax deductible as it is a 501c3 organization. For additional information, please visit www.projectlinus.org.
Proceeds from Blocks 16 - 20 will be donated to Warm Up America! which is a 501(c)(3) charity made up of volunteers who knit or crochet afghans and clothing for those in need. Founded by Evie Rosen in the early 1990s, in order to help out her neighbors who could use and appreciate the charity of a warm afghan. Warm Up America! has grown from a small Wisconsin charity to a national one, where it distributes tens of thousands of afghans, caps and other items to a variety of US based social service agencies, such as homeless shelters, battered women’s shelters, American Red Cross chapters, veterans homes, senior centers, and hospices. For additional information, please visit www.warmupamerica.org.
Although not a fiber-arts related charity, we feel compelled to donate the net proceeds from Knitterati blocks 21-25 to The American Red Cross in support of those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
