Mile End has been my home for the past 3 years. It is a small, mostly residential district in the heart of East London, within walking distance of both the Olympic Park and the City of London. In many ways it doesn’t have a lot going for it - it’s not very pretty, there isn’t a lot to do, and there are places to avoid at night. But it’s home.
In this collection I aimed to blend my love of London’s cultural richness, in particular it’s creative fashion culture, with the city’s grey urban backdrop. Muted colours bring out the shapes and textures in these patterns, and I do hope you’ll enjoy knitting them.
