MY Simply Cute Amigurumi is the culmination of a year’s work in pattern creation and testing by Mitzy Moore and Flo Smith.

Soon after opening her LYS “Moore Yarn at Airport Plaza”, Mitzy Moore began making small animals to be a part of the window decorations for the store (and to have small projects that she could take with her to fill the gaps in her activities). Quick and easy, they became a way to learn new methods of knitting animals. She soon found ways to improve on the look & shaping of each animal, making it her own.

Flo Smith, who runs the LYS when Mitzy is attending to her other businesses, also became intrigued by the small ones, but she reached for her crochet hook instead of DPNs. Flo’s creations came about in much the same way, learning different methods, then choosing the ones that worked best for the look she wanted to created.

Together they created the 6 sets of animals found in MY Simply Cute Amigurumi. There are both knitting and crocheting patterns for each animal. Many thanks and gratitude to Manos del Uruguay and Fairmount Fibers who generously provided the yarn used to create the samples for each of the animals.
