The Gloriana Sock Club is a new sock club for 2020 that will launch pattern #1 on January 20, 2020 with the first pattern featuring Anne Boleyn. It will run just like Mary. Queen of Socks did in 2019 with a our own Facebook group (if you were in Mary, Queen of Socks it will be the same group).

All of the patterns are written for cuff down and toe up and will feature three sizes in women’s small, medium, large/men’s medium. There are six patterns with one releasing each month in January, March, May, July, September and November. At least 10 days before the pattern arrives, I’ll send an update with gauge, yarn suggestions and sizing as well as who (or what) the pattern will feature. Each pattern pulls inspiration from the life of Queen Elizabeth I via either a person or place. The patterns are inspired by the monarch but are not recreations of historical patterns. A few patterns from Mary, Queen of Socks pulled a lot from different patterns that the people in her life were wearing in portraits for example.

Who is this club for? I would recommend having at least knit a pair of socks and loosely understanding sock construction. I do include tutorial links for techniques that I recommend in the pattern. The patterns are intermediate in skill knitting wise. There will be cables, texture, and ribbing. No lace, colorwork or beadwork.

Gauge will be between 9-7.5 stitches/inch with 2.25mm needles. I write with an emphasis on magic loop but explain how to convert to DPNs.
