The structure brought about in knitting is unique. Just by using knit and purl stitches, it is possible to make something that looks intricate and complicated, without ever being so!

Ridges came about when I started playing with the stitch pattern that I have heard called “German rib” or “mistaken rib”. I have always loved assymmetry, and I think that putting one little stripe in a specific place on a knitted item makes all the difference.
Once the first pattern idea sprung to mind, others followed — the difficult part of this ebook has been to sort through my ideas and limit myself to just a couple!
