From the Knit Rowan website: Rowan is promoting two main stories to reflect the major trends for winter WILDERNESS and CRAFTWORK, to contrast with the two main stories, the ESSENTIALS collection of the magazine will concentrate on the key shapes of the season. The Wilderness story has a strong Scottish influence throughout with plaids, checks and fairisles being the main pattern inspirations. Fairisle and jacquard patterning are patchworked together creating a totally modern look. Yarns are phased together using subtle, blended colours. Craftwork is inspired by an artisan approach to traditional craft in a celebration of pattern, colour and texture, heavily influenced by the Bauhaus and Arts and Crafts movement. The Essentials story is focusing on the key shapes the season, is completely plain in colour and translates into simple and easy to wear styles.
