I am an art historian, and most of my designs are derived from traditional European colorwork as well as 19th and 20th century art —modern design, architecture, painting—as well as vintage fashion and design. I learned to sew before I could knit, so many of my designs reflect an understanding of tailoring in terms of how the fabric of the knit garment fits and drapes on the body. I design primarily garments that incorporate stranded colorwork, but my objective is to transform the art from shapeless pullovers to ones that are wearable in a work or even formal environment.
