The three hats in this collection are all, in one way or another, inspired by the landscape, culture and history around me in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
Tantallon is a cosy, slouchy hat inspired by the colours of Autumn in the Lothians, and the glowing sandstone walls of Tantallon castle.
Neepheid is a jolly tam inspired by the allotment gardens of Edinburgh, and the quintessential Scottish vegetable - the turnip.
Caller Herrin’ was the cry of the Newhaven fishwives. This luminous tam recalls them in the colours and patterns of herring scales.
All hats are knitted using traditional Scottish techniques of stranded colourwork.
