At the beginning of Covid the ELCG (East London Crochet Group) released the 25 Years and Counting CAL based on Barbara Mann’s original double filet/interlocking squares from 1995 which has now not only been finished by members of the group but by people all around the world.
Barbara set up the ELCG around her kitchen table in Ilford and is a part of the UK Knitting and Crochet Guild and from 2000 they have run four all day workshops on double filet every year and an annual summer crochet retreat.
The group has been instrumental in introducing many people to double filet/ interlocking crochet who have then gone on to create not only their own designs but also teach many others this form of crochet, so for this CAL we have invited members of the East London Crochet group, new and old, to come together and use each of their individual styles to each design a strip that can be joined together to create a single bed size blanket.
