This pattern was originally featured in a 1926 edition of Mascot magazine, which was published by DC Thomson between 1922 and 1926. Mascot was a magazine subtitled “The paper for every home”. It was published between 1921 and 1926 by the John Leng imprint of DC Thomson, sitting in the same stable as The People’s Friend. This homely magazine had something for all the family, including knitting, craft and crochet patterns, a children’s section, short stories and serial fiction, fortunes and horoscopes, household hints and tips and reader contributions in the form of recipes.
