My name is Maureen and I am a longtime Indie Designer and past president of CKDA (Canadian Knitwear Designers & Artisans)
I am a devoted and totally addicted hand knitter and crocheter and that is confirmed by the evidence in my bulging closet in my studio. I grew up in Cape Breton, NS andI now live in beautiful Kentville, Nova Scotia.
I was taught to knit, crochet, craft and design at a very young age by my mother and I have carried this love with me throughout my lifetime. While living in Cape Breton Nova Scotia, I was proud to be able to knit unique sweaters for my two children as they grew and also to make unique and interesting crafts. Since my childhood was spent in a predominately Scottish-Irish part of Canada, that instilled in me, the love and the passion for hand-made and hand crafted items. A lot of my designs tend to lean in that direction.
Also my love for animals and my love of knitting has turned out to be a great combination. Each dog sweater I make is a little different than the previous one because I basically make up the designs as I go along.
