Notes

Love love love this first ever attempt at a crochet aran cable sweater. It’s such a good pattern, and I got better at it as I’ve gone along.

Couple of tips:-

  1. To keep me on track with the different number of rows per pattern, I’ve made up a little chart here!

  2. For the first couple of inches I didn’t do the post stitches quite high enough so it started to curl up at the edges, and pull down in the centre. So I ripped it out and started again, this time making sure I made the post stitches high enough to bring them up to the same height as the row I was working on.

  3. I joined the shoulders using sc through both loops, with the right sides together. To “hide” the gap between the tops of the cable twists, I did a little figure-of-eight to link them together.

  4. I did a slightly different neck edging, cribbing from another pattern, so that I had the FPDCs to make the neck edge look like ribbing.
