Is it just me or are these 42”x48” afghans not practical sizes for adult throws?

I used a size 9 needle instead of a size 8.

I added an additional stripe to each side of the blanket and added additional 24 rows to white space in middle. I also intend to add an additional panel.

Finished size: 66”x56”

The front side looks good, even though some of the last panels I knit (grey) were a little looser. I used mattress stitch for seaming, which was tricky due to the increases/decreases on each end. The backside doesn’t look as nice as I’d like due to the seams.
