Started with a 24.5cm styrofoam ball, wrapped 25 grams of supersoft which got me to 30cm. Decided to make it a bit bigger, another 12g-ish got me to 32cm.
I power wrapped, then wrapped in black after agonizing about the base color, then wrapped a not completely covered layer of Bordeaux and then black until the Bordeaux was almost covered, the idea being that the ball would have a red glow. We’ll see how that works out.
After wrapping it measures at 32.5cm.
Magic number would be 5.75 but came out at about 5.8/5.9
Didn’t measure the pentagons, just checked everything by eye.

20 triwings was the total. The first one took me a whole 90 minute livestream to complete. After that it went a lot faster. I still made the occasional mistakes of doing the inner points on the other set of guidelines. I really like how it all turned out.
Then onto the kiku. As Dana went over the options I mentioned I’d like to try ribbed, which she went with.
My first attempt was rather messy, a lot of gaps and some unevenness.
After asking Dana for advice on Discord I made the second one, making sure the first two rounds were well tensioned. It was definitely neater but still more lacy looking than I think it ought to be.
On the third attempt I again made sure the first two rows were well tensioned and anchored and used less tension on the following rounds. I had less space this time, so I left out the final round.
Next I think I’ll set the first outer points out more than 1cm.
