A set of six dishtowels for the Berlin apartment :) Block twill, 378 ends (376 pattern + 2 floating selvedge) with a sett of 18 epi. This sett is looser than the 20 epi that I have done in the past for dish towels using this cotton, but because of the twill draft (as opposed to huck, which both other towel sets have been), I chose a looser sett to create slightly longer floats and a drapier fabric for absorbency.

Dressed the loom this morning, and started weaving this afternoon! I’ve wanted to play with block twill for ages, and I can tell already that this project is going to be so much fun - yay!

July 26, 2017

Finished weaving today and pulled the fabric off the loom! It was a bit sad to reach the end, this project was so much fun to weave. I managed 6 dishcloths and about 6” of extra fabric at the end - to embellish something else in the kitchen, maybe?

All done! I love them so much!!!

Dimensions per towel fresh off the loom: 34.5” x 18.75”
Dimensions after finishing (incl. hemming): 28.5” x 17.5” (i.e. PERFECT!)
