I thought I would make another blue and white baby blanket. I seem to have so many pink baby blankets, but no blue ones.

We haven’t had a baby girl recently, they have all been boys, hence the shortage of blue blankets.

This blanket is being made as and when I have a spare moment and in between other projects.

I made a mistake with the size, instead of doing 9 x 11 squares, I made it 11 x 13, so this blanket is a cot size rather than crib/stroller size.

Such a nice easy pattern and the fabric is soft and flowing, better than the granny square gingham blankets I used to make for newborns.

This is my new “Go To” baby blanket now.

Border:

Rd 1: Denim (2sc, ch 2 2sc) for corner. 2ch, sc in space all around.
Rd 2: Denim (2sc, ch 2, 2sc) for corner, 2sc in each ch 2 space.
Rd 3: White (2hdc, ch 2 2 hdc) for corner. Crossed hdc all around.
Rd 4: Blue (2sc, ch 2, 2sc) for corner. Sc in each st.
Rd 5: White same as rd 3.
Rd 6: Denim reverse sc (crab stitch) all around.

UPDATE: This blanket is going to baby Jesse, he was born one month early and weighs only 4lbs 11ozs. He is like a little doll he is so small, bless him.

This blanket is going to be very big for him at the moment, but I am sure he will grow into it soon.
