Finished body. It took me a couple of attempts to get the border stitches placed correctly but I’m happy with it now.

Now completed both large and both small wings but have not yet stitched them together.

Pattern for small wings had errors:

Line 6 should read “blo: 4 sc, chain 4 & turn” (not 6sc).

Line 8 should read: “blo: 2 sc, chain 4 & turn” (not 4sc).

Line 15 I added chain 1 at the end but not sure how necessary it was.

Quite pleased that I managed to figure this out and correct it.

Also to note, the hdc decreases for small wings are done the same as for big wings (so the second part goes into side of row).

Finished today.

Hadn’t made many updates throughout but all pieces after my last update were done as per pattern except that I used an ochre colour for the row joining the head pieces, for the top of the wings (joining large & small wings together), the beak, the claws and the outer tail parts.

Added a stick from the hawthorn at the end of the garden.

Added white felt backing too, as the back of the head and body were quite untidy.

Yarn quantities used are approximate. I had quite a bit of wastage from testing and practising.
