A semicircle with stripes, cables, and slipped stitches, put together in a variety of fun and interesting ways!
This was fun from start to finish. So much so that I cast on a sibling variant as soon as this was blocking.
Used 220g in total as both skeins were a bit oversize.
So 880m/960y in total, but it’s designed to be able to BO earlier if needed.
It’s also possible to work an extra repeat of the edging, possibly 2.
8 wedges would make a full circle.
65x140cm (26x55in)
Orange transition line & lace used about 20% of yarn.
The pic on the blue blanket shows some design in process, trying to work out what colour to make the strong ridge between the mosaic and the lace. The burnt orange does break up the gradient, but it ties into the beginning so nicely that I couldn’t resist.
The pic of the earrings shows where I got the idea for the cable lines from. I did a google image search for Celtic knotwork and went from there. :)
As much as I love the project name, it probably needs a shorter name - maybe Réalta, the Irish Gaelic for star, which is what this cable reminds me of when in a fan formation.. (Or Rionnag, the Scottish Gaelic.)
Coriolis because the cables all lean the same way..
Or Dun Manifestin, after the home to the Gods of the Discworld, since I’m listening to Wyrd Sisters as I knit.
