Size 6 needles for the base & body. I did the base according to the original pattern. I was able to pick up 50 stitches. I added an extra round between decreases to make it taller (considering how fat it is getting!).

A 4 stitch I-cord on size 4 needles for the legs - 8” long. Crocheted legs using G hook, with SC Cain of 6 stitches for each toe.

Comb using D hook & 20 stitch chain.

Beak using size 3 DPNs.

Tail from thick & thin novelty yarn.

Bead eyes.
