Notes

Top-down, Raglan Dress for 18” Doll Using Self-striping Sock Yarn, Prototype
Notions: three 3/8” buttons, 4 stitch markers
this version was knitted flat except for the sleeves.
Note: I realized after I got to the skirt that the self-striping yarn works better when the dress is knitted in the round. It doesn’t show much at the placket, but below the placket the stripes don’t match up (duh!). I switched to working in the round part way down the skirt. The next one I do will be in the round from the placket on. This could be knit with a plain or less-obvious stripe or the stripes could be made with two different yarns and then sewn up the back. I’ve included directions for both methods. Working in the round requires alternating between K and P rounds to get the garter st borders.
