This was in Filatura di Crosa mag, Fall/Winter 1990-91. I still have the issue. This one is worked in worsted weight yarn, mostly Jamieson & Smith SoftSpun (now out of production)
The piece is worked with flat pieces sewn together, which works well with the heavier weight yarn as the seams help keep the garment from sagging.
The hood as instructed in the pattern was a wide open thing that just flopped over the head. I spent a little time redesigning the hood, especially where it joins the sweater. I am happy with the sleek and close fitting result.
This design would work for men or women.
I worked the sleeves cuff up and joined to body with an I-cord.
