I used one Berroco Home Yarn Tasting Kit Fall/Winter 2021 and had fun making a scarflet and a drawstring pouch to hold the scarf. Could make a perfect holiday gift … Happy Christmas in July!
I wanted to highlight Aerial Color, because it knits up so beautifully, on its own, single stranded. And the stripes are just wide enough to give a good impression of each yarn. Lanas Quick and Remix Chunky are two thicker yarns whose weight goes well together, so I used them for the pouch.
Making the Scarf (knit back and forth):
- Using Aerial Color, cast on 40 sts (any loose cast on).
- Knit 6 rows.
Start slant. At the beginning of each knit row (right side), k2tog. Knit to 2 sts before the end. Kfb 1, knit 1.
Next row (wrong side): Purl. Continue the slant until 6 rows before the end of the scarf.
Stripe Section:
- Switch to Lucca, knit 2 rows. Do not slant for these two rows.
- Switch to Aerial Color, stockinette 2 or 4 rows. (with 4 rows you may run short in the end. I actually started with 4 rows and switched to 2 rows half way through the scarf … works just fine).
- Switch to Lucca, stockinette 6 rows.
- Switch to Aerial Color, stockinette 2 or 4 rows.
- Switch to Lucca, knit 2 rows. Do not slant for these two rows.
- Switch to Aerial Color, stockinette 20 rows.
Work more stripe sections in the following sequence:
- Topaz
- Dulce
- Lucca

Stockinette a total of 40 rows in Aerial Color after the last Lucca stripe.
- Knit 6 rows without slanting.
- Bind off loosely.
- Weave in ends.
