Dislike thick yarn, large needles and lots of finishing so had not planned on making this! However as a Christmas present for my daughter it was ideal, so decided to do it after all …

Good fun and relatively quick to make (2.5 weeks) but then I was working to a deadline!

No idea how they got the stated gauge - I got closest with 5mm needles (r/t the 8mm suggested!) but fabric was basically bulletproof and made my hands ache to knit it so settled on using 6mm with fewer stitches (14)… also only made 4 panels on front and back, and 3 on sleeves. This also obviously affected stitch count for ribbing - no gauge was given for that so just did some calcs based roughly on % sizing and luckily it worked! Think I used 3.75mm for that and 100 stitches for collar, 82 for cuffs, 58 for fronts and 116 for back…

All the stitching together probably took longer than the knitting and felt slightly onerous at times, but was well worth it she loves it and so does her hamster!
