First real sock project for me (and also 2AAT)! I really didn’t want to knit a plain vanilla sock--I need to stay awake and round after round of stockinette doesn’t exactly scream “excitement.”

The lace pattern is really easy so far but I caught myself forgetting a yarn over one round and had to tink back. Hopefully I get past the instep this time… Unlike the Traveler’s Socks I have on hold somewhere.

I’ve made the awful mistake of not checking for errata before starting these socks and got 2 lace repeats done before I noticed that my stitches were slowly decreasing. Turns out that there is an errata on row 1, where the 7th stitch is supposed to be knit, not SSK. Boo :(

I have frogged the socks after nearly finishing the heel (I know! I’m crazy!) and decided to knit the socks a size smaller. They weren’t as snug as I wanted and I was also too lazy to tink back an extra repeat. I also bought a beautiful pair of Hiya Hiya Sharps to work it 2AAT more efficiently than on two sets of dpns.

August 27

I’ve finally completed these socks! I was getting sick of the lace pattern, I admit, so I ended the socks after 10 lace repeats. They fit nicely but the JSSBO was too stretchy and they’re not quite as snug on top. However, that might be due to the nature of this yarn which is 100% acrylic no matter the fancy name.

And hey! I made myself a sock blocker :D Several pairs, actually, but only one is pictured.

Also, I did not check gauge the second time I started these socks because I assumed the small size would fit after doing the medium. I will probably check gauge next time. I hope.

I used 71 grams of the yarn total and now have 57 grams total from both skeins.
