Photographed as best I could manage on The Wriggler. The fit is loose but not ridiculous, probably the best result for a quickly growing toddler. YAY!

Just finished the sweater, it’s blocked and drying now. I added 1” to the sleeves to bring them into proportion with my lengthened body.
I ended up adding a little picot crochet edging with (sc, 2ch, sc) in one stitch, skip next stitch around the neck, cuffs and hem to hide my not-so-pleasing edges. It looks cute, but I must learn to start and finish more cleanly.
I also sewed the neck slit closed to about halfway up, as it seemed out of proportion and the corners flopped around when I tried it on Willow. I made the stitching look like a little braided effect, and I think it looks sufficiently intentional :P
And one last noob mistake: while I did knit a gauge swatch (yay!) I decided it probably wouldn’t change much when washing and blocking (boo!), but I got quite a bit of growth - from 21st/4” to 18st/4”. So the fit will be loose after all, but that’s fine, toddlers grow too, and I won’t make the same assumption again. I also should have checked the Ravelry comments for this yarn, as nearly everyone mentions the growth factor.
Can’t wait for it to dry so I can take some photos with a baby inside, hopefully tomorrow :D

I’ve finished the yoke and body now, toddler sizes in worsted weight yarn are quick! I added an extra 1.5” to the body length because it looked very short. I’ve tried the body on Willow and it’s a pretty good fit, she’ll be able to wear it as soon as I finish the sleeves.

First sweater project! I picked this pattern because it’s simple but has features I like (seed stitch borders, raglan sleeves) and the videos that came with it are helpful for double-checking what I’m doing.
In my gauge swatch I got 19st/4” with size 8 needles and 21st/4” with size 7. The pattern calls for 20st/4” so I’m using the 7s but making the 18 month size. My daughter is 14 months now, but quite petite, so hopefully that will work out okay.
