Even though I used the same rug liner that I’ve used for all the ones I’ve ever finished, I made these a little differently. I only did 1 round of dc around, no hdc, and no sc, and no scallops. My plan is to have a lower cost jar/lid opener than my previous ones, and these will definitely work for that.

Before I started, I watched this video by Creative Grandma just as a refresher. Her tips on cutting the shelf liner were so helpful.

On the sides where the holes are wide, I did dc,dc-inc across.
Corners were 2dc,ch1,2dc.
On the sides with narrower holes, dc in each hole across.

Loop:
I started with chaining 15 then putting 20 sc in the loop, but I realized that was too ruffle-y.

So that the loop would lie flat, I changed to chain 15 and only putting 16 sc in the loop, and that worked much better.

Blocking:
I didn’t exactly block as much as flattened with weight. I put a few between and under books and all of that under the heavy box of rice I use for weight when I use the knitting machines. It worked so well. I’m very pleased with how much more professional they look.
